Welcome to my new readers, and welcome back to those returning!
Note to self: Don’t try to sound cool. This newsletter is cool. You’re not.
I began this issue the weekend immediately after I sent out the last issue, so I’ll be ready long before this time. I hear my man Jaime (note to self! ix-nay ool-cay!), my brother-across-a-bridge, shake his head that I wasn’t doing this already. I just wanted to get ahead of my chaos.
The quirky and bizarre villains in Dick Tracy were inspiration for the villains gallery for the Batman. Here are two of Tracy’s foes.

This week’s drummer is “Philly” Joe Jones.

This was a good idea, starting early. Idea-wise, it’s a keeper.
Have any suggestions? Feel free. I won’t bite.
Share this issue around. More shamuses and cats may join us from it.

I am a fan of Tracy- Warren Beatty's 1990 film turned me on to it.
Philly Joe was so named to distinguish himself from other drummers named Joe (or Jo) Jones- it was "Philly" because he was from Philadelphia.
