Welcome, new readers, and welcome back, returning ones!
Finally, it’s here! The day before the last issue was sent out, my air conditioner arrived, and I had it installed.
I could be snarky, say I have it in time for next summer, but Montréal has been ignoring the calendar for the last 22 years. We’ve had warm weather until mid-October.
Once again, I’ll feature a magazine that is out of print and one that is in print.

This appears to be a new webzine, dedicated to the hardboiled crime genre.
This week’s jazz orchestra is the Glenn Miller Orchestra. I had a hate-hate relationship with this band:
I worked as a theatre usher in downtown Montréal in my early twenties. The manager wanted to show his dominance, so the shmuck played Glenn Miller’s In the Mood on auto-repeat. Every hour. Every day. Over more than a year.
Someone destroyed the tape. I’ve never learned who did it, but we had a blissful day of peace.
Until the manager brought in a new copy of the tape.
